No punitive


When the insurance company authorizes repair to the policyholder's property and the work is done negligently, if the insurance company refuses in bad faith to properly correct the damage, the policyholder has a claim for the actual damages sustained (not limited to the policy limits), but is not entitled to punitive damages:
Murray v. Allstate Insurance Co., 275 S.E. 2d 195 N.C. Ct. App., 1981.
