"Policy Ensurance"
I live in Oklahoma and on 6/4 we had a thunderstorm move through. I noticed
my house seemed a little warm but everyone else was fine. Finally on Fri.
6/7 it was getting really hot so I went out to check the central air unit
and I could tell my compressor wasn't kicking on. I called a repairman who
told me that the compressor was shorted out, most likely by lightning. I immediately
called my insurance agent State Farm so they could talk to the repairman
if they needed. I was told by the receptionist to take a picture and have
the repairman write a letter stating what happened. I was told that a claim
would be filed and I could have a new unit installed. The repairman put in
the new unit and now state farm refuses to pay. They are saying because only
my air conditioning was affected they don't think it was lightning so they've
denied my claim. What can I do?
