One of the factors of insurance not widely known is that a good deal of the money we pay as premiums to cover claims, is spent on insurance company expenses, including their commissions paid to agents, brokers and service representatives, rent, telephone, postage, printing, equipment, surveys, travel, employees, management, and ADVERTISING. Payment comes not from their coffers, but from our premiums. What premium money that does remain is spent on claims. The next time you see an expensive insurance company ad broadcasting ONLY the insurance company point of view, as they do, remind yourself that we as policyholders are footing the bill in many painful ways!
