"Policy Ensurance"
Posted by Dawn on June 24, 2002 at 11:20:08:
In July 2000 a tractor-trailer rear-ended me while I was sitting waiting
to make a turn. I was driving my grandmother's car and it Allstate is her
insurance co. They have been paying my doctor bills and such up until now.
I live in NY with it going under no-fault. In June 2001 I tried going to work
(was not working at time of accident), it lasted until the end of Dec. 2001.
My lawyer has been trying to get them to pay lost wages but they said because
I receive SSI & SSD I should be collecting unemployment (I left job).
They also say because I had income that I should have to pay a portion of
the money they have been giving to doctors. Is this true? Why won't they pay
me lost wages? I also should say I fractured my arm in the accident and now
I might have a disc problem and they are giving me a hard time in wanting
to pay for an MRI? My grandmother has never filed a claim with them in all
these years. What is she paying all that money to have good coverage and then
when you need it, can't get it. Please help. Thank you.
