Bad Faith

Question -- I had 2 claims spanning a years time with State Farm. On each claim, they initially tried to walk away, yet my own "complete investigation" caused them to ultimately cover the claims. The "root cause" of both claims was a leaking roof resulting in mold.

We are currently litigating against the prior owners, yet believe the severity of the problem could have been minimized if State Farm had reacted differently on the first claim and gave greater attention to the second. That having been said, our next "cause of action" will likely be a Bad Faith suit against "the Farm."

What are your experiences with this form of litigation, and how hard will "the Farm" fight? I am located in California.

Thanks, in advance, for your input.
