How can I get State Farm to replace ALL my carpeting
and cabinets/counter tops after a black water flood in my condo?
I have a hyper-sensitivity to mold after living in a rental house where the owner had a similar flood just before I moved in and didn't have the restoration done properly. 8 months and 6K later, I found out my illness was due to mold growing from the bacteria still left in the home.
Now, I have had this happen in my own condo, and they are already telling me what they are NOT going to do- which is nearly everything that is needed to restore me.
They have cut most of my carpet out in the liv/din room but say they don't have to replace it in the bedroom even though there is a clear view into that room. How am I going to match five year old carpet to a seam to give continuity????!
They also said I should just wash the counter top which was saturated with the black water and put the knives, dishes and silverware in the dishwasher and use them. I will not. I told them I wanted everything that water touched replaced.
Please help with input. My condo is only 694 sq feet! I want another adjuster
as well. I don't even want to deal with this woman again. Rights and resources????
