Yes, the other insurance company is responsible for you rental for the downtime of the vehicle (while it is being repaired). Each insurance agency handles it differently, so best bet is to call that company and find out what you need to do to get reimbursed. Many companies do not offer a rental to you, unless you ask for it. But they are required to put you in a comparable vehicle (same size) while your car is being repaired. Most do not cover gas, mileage or extra insurance.
