: If accept a a settlement offer of $8900 and the insurance company pays off my car and takes posetion of the title for $6200 then give me a check for the remainder of $2700. and i buy a comparable car for $8900. but i have to have it finaced and get new license for it , plus all the other fees involved in purchasing a new car,

: Is the Insurance compnay responsible for all those extra expenses of buying a another car?

Taxes and license fees are a legitimate part of a total loss claim for damages. However, if you cannot successfully negotiate settlement of your liability claim on the basis of being made whole for the damage inflicted, and you do not carry collision insurance with your own insurance company, your option is to pursue legal action. It becomes a matter of convincing a
court that your particular vehicle and damages are worth the amount of your claim.
