: : Of course they are!!! Call the Texas Insurance Commission in Austin or go to their web site. You give them your address, and they will give you a complete list of insurance companies AND THEIR PRICES available to you. Once you determine which to research, call the local BBB. They can only tell you how many complaints they have on file. They can not tell you a rating. You deduct your own rating by simple math, I.E.:ABC insurance has 7698798978656754867 complaints this year and ZDF Insurance company only has 675673. Now you can play with price ranges and reckon the satisfaction rate with the insurance rate. It takes a little work but at claim time, you will know you invested your time wisely.

I noticed that this thread has been going now for some time and I just couldn't help myself from responding. Everyone seems to be missing the most important point: satisfaction is relevant, no matter the rating system. To put it in perspective, imagine if the government had never published your tax deductions or your rights. They would probably have very few complaints of dissatisfaction because no one would know any better. That is how it is in the insurance claim world. You only know satisfaction when you first know what you have coming.
