: I was treated for cancer and am now in remission. I will be a layed off airline employee in the next few months. I will receive benefits for approximately 6months. Can I receive credit for having these benefit specifically health insurance with a new employer under pre-existing medical condition....am I on the right track? I need a little help here.

Ordinarily when the employer stops covering you, you should get a COBRA
notice PLUS a statement of creditable service. If you get employment in
the next ensuring 60 days, the HIPPA statement of creditable service will
prevent the next employer's plan from using a pre-existing conditions exclusion.
