I have homeowners insurance through Farmers Insurance in Illinois. When I called to ask about making a claim on it- (my neice fell in backyard and broke her wrist), I was told that my policy would cover it under the "Medical Pay" provision, but that my premium would go up. They could not tell me how much the premium would go up, but that it would.
The total bill is under $500. Are they just trying to scare me into not filing a claim or will the premium really go up for this small claim?
I was also told that homeowners ins is now more like auto in that after
3 claims, they just drop you. Is this true?
