I have a daughter who is now 11yrs old. She just underwent her second open-heart surgery last month(aug, 23 2000). I have her covered on my group health plan...but want to go to another company.
I am wondering about the law concerning coverage of pre-existing conditions. Do some employers cover pre-existing conditions right away? I have had coverage for my daughter the last 12 months. Also, will I be able to carry the coverage (COBRA) if my new employer has a one year waiting period?
I am possibly thinking about this job move within the next 10 months...however...her condition is uncertain at this time as we were informed that the heart valve that was put in is leaking. I am divorced and am the only provider for her. Im afraid to make a move actually... Any thoughts, advice would be helpful.
