We have a 98 Volvo that was in an accident Sep 99. We took the car to the USAA reccomended repair shop near where the accident happened in NY. We live in Maryland, so had little access to the process. The adjuster at that time determined it was "fixable" and that repair shop made over $12K on the repairs. Since that time, it has been to 2 additional USAA directed shops and has paid over $6K of supplemental claims caused by the accident, and is still not fixed. Is there anyway to get the car declared a total loss as these supplemental claims mount, or are we stuck, since USAA has dumped so much money into it already. I do not think the car will ever be completely fixed.
