There is no ranking system like this. However, many state insurance
departments keep a complaint record for insurance companies, so consumers
should check with their state insurance departments; they should also file
complaints with them.

Hi, the following message was posed at our message forum. Can you
provide an answer or a source for an answer?

"After having my first experience with an insurance claim, I have never
felt so powerless in my life. I was rear-ended by an uninsured motorist.
Very minor damage, but my insurance company refuses to pay for a blown
tire and glass damage. The amounts involved are of course, extremly
small, so legal recourse is probibly out of the question, but I do not
want to continue being "Insured" with
this company.

My question is, is there a ranking system, say by customer satisfaction
standards, whereby I can compare different insurance companys claims
handling? I am thankfull that this was a minor problem that opened my
eyes enough to realize how ignorant consumers are to their rights
regarding insurance.
